An episode where the owner of a Japanese restaurant gifted 'beef sushi' to a soldier returning from vacation has attracted the attention of netizens. On the 28th, a post titled "Thank you so much to the sushi restaurant owner in Busan" was uploaded on the online community BobaeDream.
The author, Mr. A, said that his son recently enlisted in the Air Force and was assigned to a unit in Busan, adding, "Although military service is something every adult man in South Korea must do, it was bittersweet and painful to see my own child go."
He continued, "My son came home on his first leave and returned after a short 2-night, 3-day vacation," and shared a touching story along with a text message from his son saying he arrived safely. He said, "(My son) wanted to eat sushi, so he visited a Japanese restaurant in Sasang-gu. The owner gave him expensive sushi as a complimentary service."
Mr. A also shared a photo sent by his son. The photo showed expensive beef sushi with the phrase "Service for Military Personnel" displayed.
