Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) successfully concluded the youth festival "Carpe Diem," held on the 28th at the Baramdang and Lawn Square in front of Seongbuk-gu Office, where youth clubs directly organized and operated the stage and experiential activities.
On this day, 12 youth clubs participated in the performance section, and 8 school clubs joined the experiential and exhibition booths, showcasing wonderful performances and various hands-on activities. Visitors were delighted with diverse performances by middle and high school clubs in Seongbuk-gu, including traditional Korean music, bands, dance, Nanta, and orchestra.
In addition to youth and school officials, local residents operated experiential booths themselves, making the event even more vibrant. Various programs that visitors could participate in were held, including ▲sea glass crafts ▲implementing Samseon-dong in the metaverse through sports climbing ▲robot soccer games ▲building abdominal muscles with health activities ▲baking volunteer work for vulnerable groups ▲climate action toward carbon neutrality.
In particular, the baking activities by the Seongbuk Youth Support Center Kkumdeulim, which volunteers for the local community, received great response, and various experiential activities operated by the "Think As You Like Project," a representative project of the Seongbuk Future Education District supporting youth-led activities, were also very popular.
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, stated, "I hope that the students and visitors participating in this Carpe Diem festival communicate and create enjoyable memories together," and added, "Seongbuk-gu will continue to support youth so they can freely demonstrate their talents, interact, grow together, and develop as healthy members of the community."
