Hyundai Motor Securities, the Only Securities Firm to Achieve ESG Integrated 'A' Grade for 4 Consecutive Years
Hyundai Motor Securities announced on the 30th that it has been recognized for excellence in sustainable management by receiving an integrated 'A' grade for four consecutive years in the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) evaluation announced annually by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). The integrated A grade in the ESG evaluation is the highest grade among securities firms, and Hyundai Motor Securities is the only one to achieve this for four consecutive years.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance, and recently ESG has emerged as a key criterion for investment decision-making in the capital market. KCGS's ESG evaluation has been the leading domestic ESG assessment since 2011, evaluating the sustainability management levels of listed companies and financial institutions in Korea.
In particular, Hyundai Motor Securities received an 'A+' grade in the Social (S) category, which evaluates information security, customer satisfaction, and working environment, and received 'B+' grades in both the Environmental (E) and Governance (G) categories.
Choi Byung-chul, CEO of Hyundai Motor Securities, said, "Since 2020, we have proactively established an ESG promotion system in the industry, pursued the establishment of ESG strategies and policies, and internalized them among employees. We are systematically reducing greenhouse gas emissions centered on the carbon neutrality roadmap established this year." He added, "We will continue to strengthen business competitiveness through ESG management and pursue sustainable growth."
