US "Sullivan and Wang Yi Cooperate to Ensure US-China Summit Next Month"
The United States and China have agreed to cooperate to facilitate a summit between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping in San Francisco next month.
A senior Biden administration official said on the 27th (local time) during a briefing on Wang Yi, member of the Chinese Communist Party Central Political Bureau and Foreign Minister's visit to the U.S., that National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Foreign Minister Wang discussed high-level U.S.-China exchanges.
When asked how confident they were about the summit taking place, the senior official responded, "We are preparing for such a meeting."
Meanwhile, before his meeting with Sullivan, Foreign Minister Wang held talks for over six hours with Secretary of State Tony Blinken on the previous day and the morning of the 27th.
The senior official stated that Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Wang "agreed on the importance of keeping communication channels open on all ranges of issues."

The two sides exchanged "frank opinions" on the Middle East conflict and also discussed Russia's invasion of Ukraine and North Korea's provocative actions, the official added.
