Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) will hold a special lecture on the French representative Impressionist painter 'Claude Monet' as part of the Eunpyeong iN Learning Citizen Education series on November 17.
The lecture will feature docent Jeong Woo-cheol (exhibition commentator), who will share the story of Claude Monet, who painted the light of life. Known as the 'idol of the docent world,' Jeong Woo-cheol has gained fame as an exhibition commentator introducing art through various publications and broadcasts.
The lecture will take place on November 17 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM on the first floor of the Art Sumbi Center under the theme 'Painting the Light of Life, Claude Monet.'
The session will explore the process of finding the light of life through the life and works of the master of Impressionism, Claude Monet. Monet is a painter who expressed the light and colors of nature through various works such as the Blue Period, Water Lilies series, and Morning at Giverny, and his works continue to be loved today.
The lecture is open to all residents of Eunpyeong-gu. Applications are accepted until November 15 on the Eunpyeong Baeumoa website, with a limit of 70 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Docent Jeong Woo-cheol said, "Monet was a painter who overcame life's hardships and adversities to find the light of life," adding, "I hope Monet's life and art will bring comfort and hope to all of us who want to live more brilliantly than today through this lecture."
