Drunk Driving by Active Police Officer Caught After Citizen Report... Suspended from Duty
An active-duty police officer who refused a breathalyzer test requested by police dispatched following a suspected drunk driving report has been suspended from duty.
Hadong Police Station in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that they have suspended Lieutenant A, in his 50s, who belongs to a local police substation.
According to the police, Lieutenant A was caught by police after a citizen reported seeing a vehicle swerving while driving under the influence near Ilbanseong, Jinju City, on the afternoon of the 15th.
It is known that the police who arrived at the scene attempted to administer a breathalyzer test, but he refused.
Investigations revealed that Lieutenant A had been drinking at a gathering with acquaintances earlier that day and drove himself home.
