Quiz, Missions, Experiences, and Learning About Cultural Heritage Correctly
Sarasil Art Village in Gwangyang-si, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the ‘Cultural Heritage City Tour’ program on November 4th as part of the 2023 Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage project titled ‘Hyeonhosek Blooming Between Castle Stones, Marosan Fortress’.
The Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage project is a Cultural Heritage Administration public contest project with the strategy of ‘Lowering the threshold for cultural heritage,’ ‘Raising the quality of programs,’ and ‘Greatly increasing public happiness,’ aimed at discovering the value and meaning of dormant cultural heritage and recreating it as cultural content.
Since 2018, Sarasil Art Village in Gwangyang-si has been promoting this project for six years to help people learn more deeply and intimately about Gwangyang’s cultural heritage and history through the medium of culture and art.
This program involves visiting a total of four sites, including Gwangyang’s representative cultural heritages such as Jungheungsanseong Fortress and Gwangyang Hyanggyo Confucian School, guided by cultural tourism interpreters, and engaging in fun experiential activities to make it a meaningful time.
Additionally, activities such as missions and entertaining quizzes tailored to each site will be conducted, making it a beneficial program suitable for family participation.
Participants can apply for the program through the Gwangyang City Hall website and the Sarasil Art Village Band by November 1st.
Jo Juhyeon, director of Sarasil Art Village, stated, “The purpose of the Saengsaeng Cultural Heritage project is for many citizens to become closer to our cultural heritage,” adding, “I hope people do not miss this great opportunity to explore the cultural heritage scattered throughout the region with explanations from professional guides.”
