Successful Completion of Village Development Project Led by Oksan 2-ri Residents
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk successfully completed the village development project in Oksan 2-ri, Dalsan-myeon, by investing 500 million KRW from February to October this year to promote the development and revitalization of the village community.
The village development project is a representative resident-led, bottom-up initiative where residents directly plan and propose projects for village development based on various local resources and characteristics.
Prior to this project, Oksan 2-ri had been implementing a small-scale village development support project since 2021, strengthening residents' capabilities through study tours to advanced sites and three rural field forums. Based on this, they finalized project plans such as village sidewalk maintenance and bus stop installation.
Accordingly, Yeongdeok-gun promoted the project based on the participation and proposals of Oksan 2-ri residents, achieving very high satisfaction by meticulously improving inconveniences felt by residents in their daily lives.
Building on these achievements, Yeongdeok-gun plans to expand the participation of intermediary organizations and resident activists in project implementation and to lead the role of local activists nurtured in the process to function positively in public contest projects.
