This Year's Inductee to the 'Accounting Hall of Fame': Professor Emeritus Ju In-gi of Yonsei University
The Accounting Hall of Fame Committee announced on the 26th that Professor Ju In-gi, Professor Emeritus at Yonsei University, has been selected as the inductee for the 2023 Accounting Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held following the 6th Accounting Day celebration on the 31st of this month.
Professor Ju, selected as this year’s inductee, was recognized for his dedication to the development of accounting and the nurturing of future scholars. He served as a professor at Yonsei University for over 50 years, focusing on educating the next generation, and contributed to the advancement of the accounting industry by serving as president of the Korean Accounting Association, international vice president of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and president of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration.
In particular, he served as the president of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) for two years starting in 2018, playing a significant role in improving international accounting credibility as well as establishing policies to enhance accounting transparency and fairness.
