View original imageAccording to the Korea Meteorological Administration, on the 26th, Korea will be located on the edge of a high-pressure system over the southern sea of Jeju, and from the afternoon, it will be affected by a trough of low pressure descending from the north. As a result, rain will begin in the afternoon in the Seoul metropolitan area, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk regions.
In most areas, the rain will stop by evening, but precipitation may continue until late at night in the inland southern Chungcheong and Jeonbuk regions.
On the same night, occasional rain will also occur in Jeonnam, the western inland of Gyeongbuk, and Jeju.
In Jeju, rain may continue until the early morning of the 27th.
Expected rainfall amounts are 5 to 40 mm in eastern Gyeonggi, 5 to 30 mm in northern Gangwon Yeongseo, 5 to 20 mm in Seoul, Incheon, western Gyeonggi, the five western islands, central and southern Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungcheong, and Jeonbuk, around 5 mm in Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Jeju, and less than 5 mm in the western inland of Gyeongbuk.
Fog should be watched out for on the morning of the 26th. On the night transitioning from the 25th to the 26th, the sky will be clear, leading to active radiative cooling. As a result, dense fog reducing visibility to less than 200 meters will form mainly along the west coast and inland areas from the night of the 25th to the morning of the 26th. In areas outside the west coast and inland, visibility may also drop below 1 km due to fog.
The lowest temperatures on the morning of the 26th are expected to be between 6 and 16 degrees Celsius, and the highest temperatures during the day are expected to be between 17 and 25 degrees Celsius, maintaining temperatures slightly above the average for this time of year. The temperature difference between day and night will be large, around 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, especially in the southern regions.
Expected minimum and maximum temperatures in major cities are 15°C and 21°C in Seoul, 16°C and 20°C in Incheon, 13°C and 22°C in Daejeon, 13°C and 23°C in Gwangju, 11°C and 24°C in Daegu and Ulsan, and 15°C and 23°C in Busan.
Strong gusty winds with instantaneous speeds of around 55 km/h (15 m/s) will blow along the west coast from the night of the 26th. On the 27th, similar strong winds are expected in the Gangwon mountain areas, the east coast, and Jeju. Gusty winds, thunder, and lightning will occur over the West Sea and East Sea starting from the 26th. On the 27th, gusty winds, thunder, and lightning will also occur over the South Sea.
