Backpacker announced on the 25th that CEO Kim Dong-hwan has joined the 'Single-use Product Zero Challenge,' pledging to reduce the use of disposable products. Backpacker operates the handmade platform Idus and the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug.
The Single-use Product Zero Challenge is an eco-friendly relay campaign launched by the Ministry of Environment in February. CEO Kim participated in this campaign after being nominated by Kim Dong-ho, CEO of Korea Credit Data.
As part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, Backpacker promotes the habitual use of reusable products by conducting in-house resource-saving campaigns and providing tumblers to new employees. The company also runs a plastic bottle cap collection campaign, delivering the caps to zero-waste shops, and regularly holds in-house bazaars, donating the proceeds to environmental organizations.
