Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that the ‘Yangcheon-gu Urban Maintenance Project Knowledge Forum,’ conducted to systematically provide related knowledge by a top instructor in the urban maintenance field and strengthen project promotion capabilities, has successfully concluded with approximately 2,200 participants, making it the largest-scale maintenance education hosted by local governments nationwide.
With over 60 maintenance projects such as reconstruction and redevelopment underway, the district has established and operated a regular urban maintenance project education program consisting of 12 sessions in total during the first and second halves of the year to prevent conflicts among union members and support swift and transparent project execution.
In the first half (April to May), 1,596 people attended 8 sessions, and in the second half (September to October), 640 people attended 4 sessions, totaling 2,236 participants, with more than 180 attendees per session, reflecting the strong enthusiasm on site.
The professional instructors, composed of experts from the Korea Real Estate Board, lawyers, accountants, appraisers, and maintenance project consultants, provided in-depth practical knowledge in areas such as ▲Understanding Urban Maintenance Projects ▲Union Formation and Operation ▲Feasibility Analysis ▲Project Implementation Approval ▲Application for Sale and Establishment of Management Disposal Plans ▲Verification of Construction Costs ▲Comparison and Analysis by Maintenance Project Methods ▲Guidelines for Selecting Construction Companies.
Additionally, to accommodate residents who found it difficult to attend in person, the district posted lecture videos on the official YouTube channel ‘YangcheonTV,’ produced the ‘Yangcheon-gu Urban Maintenance Project Guidebook’ compiling expert lecture materials by field, and provided it along with certificates of completion, drawing great responses from participants through meticulous administration.
The distribution of participants showed that 70% were involved in reconstruction and redevelopment, and among lecture topics, the highest satisfaction was for the class on ‘Guidelines for Selecting Construction Companies after Union Establishment Approval,’ which is a core aspect of maintenance projects.
Regarding expectations for the Yangcheon-gu Urban Development Promotion Team related to maintenance projects, the responses were ▲Support from Expert Advisory Committee (40.3%) ▲Regular Meetings to Resolve Local Issues and Facilitate Communication (15.7%) ▲Operation of Visiting Maintenance Project Consulting (14%) ▲Regularization of the Urban Maintenance Project Knowledge Forum (7%), in that order.
