Gwangju Buk-gu, Eases Local Parking Shortage by Opening Kumho Jungang Middle School Parking Lot
Available 24/7 from November for Applicants Only
Gwangju Buk-gu District Office (District Mayor Moon In) and Kumho Jungang Middle School (Principal Yoo Young-mi) have joined hands to alleviate local parking difficulties.
Buk-gu announced on the 23rd that under the shared parking lot operation support, 22 parking spaces at Kumho Jungang Middle School's affiliated parking lot will be opened free of charge for the convenience of local residents.
Last August, Kumho Jungang Middle School responded to Buk-gu's consultation on expanding shared parking lots and signed a "Shared Parking Lot Designation Business Agreement."
To ensure smooth operation of this shared parking lot, Buk-gu will improve the school parking lot environment considering student safety, including installing a parking control system by October. Additionally, after completing the pre-registration of vehicles using the parking lot, the school parking lot will be opened to local residents starting in November.
The opening hours will be 24 hours a day, every day including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Local residents wishing to use the shared parking lot can apply by calling the Traffic Guidance Division of Buk-gu Office.
District Mayor Moon In said, "We deeply appreciate Kumho Jungang Middle School for sharing the intention to alleviate local parking difficulties and promote a culture of sharing and cooperation," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide practical living conveniences to residents by cooperating with various institutions based on the values of sharing and cooperation."
