Former President Kim Dae-jung Documentary 'Gilwi-e Kim Dae-jung' to Premiere in January Next Year
The documentary film "Gilwi-e Kim Dae-jung," depicting the life of former President Kim Dae-jung, is set to be released in January next year, announced the production company Myung Films on the 23rd.
"Gilwi-e Kim Dae-jung" (directed by Min Hwan-gi) is a documentary made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of President Kim Dae-jung's birth. It follows President Kim Dae-jung, who took the first steps and established political democracy for the people and peace on the Korean Peninsula, tracing his desperate strides toward democracy and his tumultuous life journey.
The film was produced by gathering unpublished materials and a vast amount of archival footage, incorporating the voices of those who shared historical moments with him.
The film, planned by the Kim Dae-jung Peace Center, is produced by Myung Films and CEO Choi Nak-yong, who produced and distributed "This Is Roh Moo-hyun" (2017), and directed by Min Hwan-gi, who directed "Roh Hoe-chan 6411" (2021).
