Gwangju Transportation Corporation and Hana Bank Increase Senior Citizens' Transportation Card Usage Rates
On-site Promotional Event Held
Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Jo Ik-moon) announced on the 23rd that it will hold on-site promotional events in collaboration with Hana Bank (Bank President Oh Seung-yeol) to increase the usage rate of senior citizen transportation cards.
The senior citizen transportation card can be applied for by any senior aged 65 or older registered as a resident in Gwangju City, and applicants can choose between a credit card and a debit card.
The card allows free use of the Gwangju Urban Railway and can be used as a paid transportation card on city buses and other services.
Possessing a senior citizen transportation card eliminates the hassle of having to verify identity with an ID and receive a single-use discount ticket each time when boarding the urban railway.
When transferring between the urban railway and city buses, the card enables free urban railway rides and payment of city bus fares with a single card, making public transportation more convenient.
The Corporation and Hana Bank will conduct on-site registrations on the 24th at Sotae Station waiting room and on the 26th at Dong-gu Senior Welfare Center, providing promotional information on proper ticket usage along with souvenirs for seniors’ convenience.
Seniors wishing to apply for the card should bring their ID and visit the site between 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM on the specified dates. Applications can also be made year-round at 10 Hana Bank branches within Gwangju Metropolitan City.
