Yoon Departs for 4-Night 6-Day State Visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar
Official State Visit to Saudi Arabia Begins on the 22nd
Participation in Various Economic Events Including the Korea-Saudi Investment Forum
Economic Focus Also During the State Visit to Qatar on the 24th-25th
President Yoon Suk-yeol embarked on a 4-night, 6-day state visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar on the 21st.
On the same afternoon, President Yoon departed from Seongnam Seoul Airport aboard Air Force One, the presidential aircraft, accompanied by his wife, First Lady Kim Keon-hee.
President Yoon wore a dark navy suit with an ivory-colored tie, while First Lady Kim arrived at the airport wearing an ivory suit with a white shirt and beige shoes.
The presidential couple shook hands individually with the farewell party at the airport before boarding Air Force One.
Attending the farewell ceremony for the presidential couple’s trip were Kim Ki-hyun, leader of the People Power Party; Yoon Jae-ok, floor leader of the People Power Party; Lee Sang-min, Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; Kim Dae-gi, Chief Presidential Secretary; and Lee Jin-bok, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Presidential Office.
Diplomatic officials from the countries to be visited, including Fahad Baraka, Charg? d’Affaires of Saudi Arabia to Korea, and Mishal Saad Al Kuwari, Charg? d’Affaires of Qatar to Korea, were also present.
President Yoon arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on the afternoon of the same day and will begin official state activities starting on the 22nd.
On the 22nd, following the official welcoming ceremony, a summit meeting and state luncheon with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia are scheduled. That evening, President Yoon will attend three economic events: the Korea-Saudi Investment Forum, the Korea-Saudi Future Technology Partnership Forum on the 23rd, and the 50th Anniversary Ceremony of Korea-Saudi Construction Cooperation, encouraging businesspeople from both countries.
On the last day of the Saudi schedule, the 24th, President Yoon will attend the Future Investment Initiative Forum, known as the "Davos of the Desert," as the guest of honor and engage in a dialogue with the moderator on the current and future cooperation between Korea and the Middle East.
Following this, President Yoon will travel to Doha, Qatar on the 24th and continue the state visit for 1 night and 2 days until the 25th. The focus of President Yoon’s visit to Qatar is also on economic matters.
As the first agenda of the Qatar visit, President Yoon plans to tour the Korean Pavilion and other exhibitions at the Doha International Horticultural Expo. The expo is being held under the theme "Green Desert, Better Environment," and Korea is operating a pavilion showcasing its excellent smart agriculture technology.

On the following day, the 25th, President Yoon will hold a summit meeting with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar and attend a state luncheon together. Afterwards, through the Korea-Qatar Business Forum attended by 300 businesspeople from both countries, he will encourage the participants. As the final event in Qatar, President Yoon will visit Education City, Qatar’s self-proclaimed educational hub in the Middle East, and engage in discussions with young Qatari leaders.
