Yoon Urges Cabinet to Earnestly Listen to Genuine Public Sentiment on the Ground
Ahead of Saudi and Qatar Tour, Prime Minister Emphasizes 'On-Site' Approach
President Yoon Suk-yeol, before departing on the 21st for a 4-night, 6-day state visit to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, urged Prime Minister Han Duck-soo to "make efforts to properly listen to the public sentiment on the ground."
On the morning of the same day, President Yoon said, "Instead of administration that just stares at computer screens or works overnight on reports, I want each level of the administration to rush to the field to hear the vivid cries of the struggling people, and devote themselves to on-site administration and policy information activities," according to Kim Eun-hye, the presidential office’s chief spokesperson, in a written briefing.

President Yoon has recently been stressing not to stay only at the desk but to listen to the voices of the people on-site. Chief Kim mentioned, "Field-centered administration is a conviction that the president has revealed through his long public service career and a principle emphasized since the early days of the government."
President Yoon particularly said, "There are too many people struggling due to inflationary pressures caused by external conditions such as high interest rates and rising raw material prices. We must go directly and feel it. Return to the original intention and find proper policies," urging once again.
