Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation Holds the 28th Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award Ceremony
Professor Jeong Yunhwa of Dankook University Receives Plaque and 30 Million Won Prize
The Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation announced on the 20th that it held the 28th Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award ceremony on the 19th at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO).

This year’s Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award was presented to Professor Jeong Yun-hwa of Dankook University’s Department of Food and Nutrition in recognition of her contributions to the management participation of food companies and the development of the food industry as an outside director, audit committee member, and advisory committee member of food-related companies. Professor Jeong served as the director of the Natural Product Food and Pharmaceutical Material Industrialization Research Center and participated in the development of individually recognized functional foods (MR-10, MS-10, etc.) for participating companies through research on functional foods using natural products to prevent various diseases in preparation for an aging society.
Professor Jeong has made significant efforts in researching functional foods using natural products to prevent various diseases in preparation for an aging society. Over the past 10 years, she has produced a total of 91 academic journal papers (47 in international SCI(E)-level journals and 44 in domestic journals), 22 patents, and 2 books as research achievements.
At the award ceremony for the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award, Shin Young-jae, auditor of the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation, presented the plaque and a prize of 30 million KRW on behalf of Chairman Ham Young-jun of the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation.

Established in 1996, the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Foundation has been conducting various academic promotion and scholarship projects. Starting with scholarship support for 14 students at 5 universities in 1997, it has provided scholarships totaling approximately 7.9 billion KRW to about 1,185 university students through 2022. In 2009, the foundation established the Ottogi Ham Tae-ho Academic Award, which is presented annually through the Korean Society of Food Science and Technology and the Korean Society of Food and Nutrition Science to food-related professors and researchers who have made significant contributions to the development of the food industry and the improvement of human dietary life. As of 2023, a total of 27 people have received the award.
