Police Promote Collaborative Project to Strengthen Digital Sex Crime Response Capabilities
The National Police Agency signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the 19th for the "Government Development Cooperation Project to Strengthen Police Capabilities in Responding to Digital Sexual Crimes."

Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, and Hao Liang Xu, UNDP Deputy Administrator, signed the agreement during a bilateral meeting held on the occasion of the "2023 Seoul International Police Chiefs Conference." Both parties agreed to cooperate on sharing the experience of the Korean police through curriculum development and training provision, supporting local UNDP country offices for strengthening investigation capabilities and prevention of online sexual crimes, and assisting in building legal and institutional environments in partner countries.
To this end, the National Police Agency plans to support 1.29 billion KRW as an international organization fund, to be executed jointly with UNDP to promote the cooperation project.

On the same day, the National Police Agency also signed a second project agreement with the UNDP Democratic Republic of the Congo Country Office for the "Establishment of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Police Crime Information Management System." This project involves supporting the Democratic Republic of the Congo National Police (PNC) headquarters and the South Kivu regional police agency in building a system for crime information analysis and management.
