40-Year-Old Man Arrested for Marijuana Inhalation Mistaken for Drunk Driving
A man who drove dangerously while inhaling marijuana was caught by police who responded to a drunk driving report.
According to the Miryang Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 19th, a man in his 40s, Mr. A, was arrested on the 17th for driving while inhaling marijuana on a road in Samrangjin-eup, Miryang City.
At the time, police responded to a report around 2:10 PM of a vehicle suspected of drunk driving, crossing the center line.
There were eight reports suspecting Mr. A's vehicle of drunk driving.
Police arrested Mr. A around 3 PM and measured his blood alcohol concentration, which showed he had not consumed alcohol.
Suspicious of Mr. A's condition?his pupils were dilated and he was speaking incoherently?police searched the vehicle.
As a result of the search, about 200 to 300 grams of marijuana were found in the back seat and trunk of the vehicle.
Police arrested Mr. A on the spot for violating the Narcotics Control Act and sent his urine sample to the National Forensic Service for drug testing.
It is known that Mr. A had a history of inhaling marijuana about 10 years ago.
