KB Securities Conducts Free Installation Project of Jeju Fall Prevention Upcycled Safety Bars
Approximately 480t Carbon Emission Reduction Effect and Senior Job Creation
KB Securities announced on the 19th that the "Fall Prevention Upcycling Safety Bar Free Installation Project," which has been underway in Jeju Island since June, is progressing smoothly.
The Fall Prevention Upcycling Safety Bar Free Installation Project involves collecting and recycling waste plastics to produce upcycled safety bars for elderly people living alone and installing them free of charge. The collected waste plastics are manufactured into fall prevention safety bars for elderly people living alone in Jeju Island, and so far, more than 200 households have received free support. A total of 250 households are expected to benefit by the end of October. To carry out the project, KB Securities signed a business agreement last May with four organizations: Korea Environment Corporation Jeju Branch, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Elderly Welfare Division, Korea Senior Human Resources Development Institute Jeju Branch, and Jeju Senior Club.
This project is expected to create senior jobs within Jeju Island and recycle approximately 120 tons of discarded plastic annually through waste plastic collection activities, resulting in an estimated reduction of about 480 tons of carbon emissions.
Park Jeong-rim and Kim Seong-hyun, co-CEOs of KB Securities, stated, "This project is a multifaceted initiative encompassing environmental protection, job creation, and support for vulnerable groups," adding, "As various organizations have come together for environmental protection and community development, we will strive to make this project a model ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiative." They further said, "KB Securities will continue to lead ESG management through various activities."
