Seogwipo Fire Station Conducts 'Unscripted Fire Drill' at Seohoyo Nursing Home
Seogwipo Fire Station of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province (Chief Park Gwang-chan) announced on the 19th that it conducted an unannounced fire drill at Seohoyo Nursing Home the previous day.
With 10 pieces of equipment and 30 personnel mobilized, this drill was carried out to strengthen the initial response capabilities of the self-defense fire brigade and to improve the quick situational judgment skills of on-site personnel through an unannounced drill.
The main contents of the drill included ▲ unannounced fire drills for self-directed training by related personnel ▲ initial fire suppression using fire facilities, establishment and operation of a temporary emergency medical station by the first-arriving paramedic captain ▲ on-site command according to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
Chief Park Gwang-chan stated, “In facilities for vulnerable evacuees such as nursing homes, early fire activities are very important because large-scale casualties are feared in case of fire,” and added, “To improve the initial response capabilities of the self-defense fire brigade before the arrival of the fire department, continuous education and multifaceted training will be conducted in the future.”
