The joint TF team will promote collaborative projects to ensure public maritime safety, including △ efficient provision of weather information such as early warning services for hazardous weather △ provision of safe navigation areas using a 9-hour composite wave forecast △ creation of an integrated manual for responding to hazardous marine weather.
These collaborative projects are expected to greatly contribute to creating safer seas by providing real-time step-by-step hazardous weather information to marine workers based on local observations using marine observation buoys in the West and South Sea regions in preparation for winter marine weather deterioration, and by implementing safety measures such as moving to safe areas and early sheltering accordingly.
Kim Inchang, Chief of the Seohae Coast Guard Agency, stated, “As part of the ongoing establishment of a comprehensive marine safety network by the Seohae Coast Guard, we will take the lead in proactive prevention by preparing and responding in advance to maritime accidents that could result in casualties through an organic cooperative system between the two organizations.”
