Advanced Security Industry Gathered in One Place... Opening of the '5th International Security Industry Expo'
October 18-21 at Incheon Songdo Convensia
The "5th International Public Security Industry Expo," the only specialized public security industry exhibition in Korea, opened on the 18th at Songdo Convensia in Incheon. This event featured 184 leading domestic companies and organizations in the public security industry, with a total of 816 booths.
Designed to foster the public security industry by showcasing research and development achievements in the security field as well as excellent products and technologies from domestic companies linked to exports, this event is expected to become a festival where visitors can experience the advanced systems and equipment of the Korean police all in one place, thereby laying the foundation for future public security.
Until last year, the event attracted 409 domestic and international companies, with a total of 40,000 domestic and foreign buyers, citizens, and police officers attending. Following its UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) certification in May last year, it has been selected for three consecutive years as an "Excellent Trade Exhibition" hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, growing into a representative exhibition in Korea.
Especially this year, marking the "First Year of Leading Future Public Security," the exhibition scale has been expanded. Through nine exhibition halls, including the "Overseas Police Special Pavilion," the "Drug Prevention Special Pavilion" and the "Public Safety Special Pavilion" operated jointly with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Korea Customs Service, Public Procurement Service, Korean Intellectual Property Office, and Korea Coast Guard, cutting-edge products and technologies in the public security field are showcased.
During the same period, police delegations from around the world attending the "Seoul International Police Chiefs Conference" held in Korea, as well as separate overseas police delegations responsible for police equipment, were invited to hold "1:1 export consultation meetings" with domestic companies. An export contract target of 1 million USD was also set to facilitate actual contract signings.
Additionally, various support measures are provided to help participating companies develop sales channels, including an "Equipment Evaluation Meeting" where on-site police officers directly assess the performance of equipment they will actually use, and a "Public Procurement Consultation Meeting" inviting purchasing officers from public institutions.
Alongside the event running until the 21st, 45 related events are also held, including the Police Agency-KAIST joint academic conference, international forensic science forums, autonomous vehicle forums, and technical discussion meetings for companies participating in the International Public Security Industry Expo.
