Sollus Advanced Materials Completes Construction of Iksan New Plant for 'OLED Non-Emissive Materials'
"Preparing for a New Leap While Expanding Our Domain"
Solus Advanced Materials announced on the 19th that it has completed the construction of a new production plant for organic light-emitting diode (OLED) non-emissive materials and is now fully launching its market penetration.
Solus Advanced Materials held a completion ceremony for its subsidiary Solus I-Tech’s non-emissive materials plant located in Hamyeol-eup, Iksan-si, Jeonbuk, the day before, and immediately began pilot production.
The newly completed Hamyeol plant was established on a 25,976㎡ site within the Hamyeol industrial complex, about 18 km away from Solus Advanced Materials’ existing emissive materials production base in Iksan. Solus I-Tech, a subsidiary established by Solus Advanced Materials to expand into non-emissive materials, is based in the Hamyeol complex and directly produces OLED non-emissive materials such as 'Filler' (high refractive index filler) and 'high-end Encapsulation' materials. In 2024, a quantum dot (QD) ink manufacturing plant for non-emissive materials will also be established here.

Solus Advanced Materials has set a goal to gain a leading position in non-emissive materials following its market leadership in OLED emissive materials, backed by numerous proprietary patents. Currently, Solus Advanced Materials holds about 800 patents and is conducting R&D and mass production of various emissive materials including aETL (hole blocking layer), ETL (electron transport layer), and HTL (hole transport layer). By expanding into non-emissive materials such as filler, high-end encapsulation materials, and quantum dot (QD) ink, the company is diversifying its business across the entire OLED materials spectrum.
The non-emissive material 'Filler' produced at the new Hamyeol plant is a polymer OLED material that improves display light-emitting performance and is applied to large premium TVs. Until now, this material has mainly been produced by overseas suppliers in countries such as Japan and the United States, and Solus I-Tech is the first domestic producer. The high-end encapsulation material protects OLED devices from external environments and is applied to premium smartphones and other mobile devices, as well as IT devices such as laptops and tablets.

By taking direct responsibility from raw material sourcing to final products, the company aims to enhance quality competitiveness, improve cost efficiency, and thereby improve profitability.
