Minister Bang Moon-gyu Meets Economic Organizations, Urges "Export Rebound and Investment Activation"
On the 18th, Meetings with the Presidents of KCCI and HKEC in Succession
Visiting Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Bang Moon-kyu visited the Korea Employers Federation and the Korea Economic Association consecutively on the morning of the 18th. Minister Bang urged both associations to play a role in the rebound of exports and the revitalization of investment in the second half of the year.
On the same day, he met with Son Kyung-sik, chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, to exchange views on recent economic and labor issues and ways to boost economic vitality. Minister Bang asked for the spread of a labor-management cooperation atmosphere to achieve positive export results amid difficult external conditions such as the global high-interest rate trend and US-China conflicts.

In response, Chairman Son said, “I urge the government to strive to enhance corporate vitality and strengthen industrial competitiveness, and we will communicate and cooperate more actively with the government,” asking for cooperation to ensure that labor reforms for creating jobs for future generations proceed without setbacks.
Subsequently, Minister Bang met with Ryu Jin, chairman of the Korea Economic Association, at the FKI Tower to discuss industrial issues and public-private cooperation plans for economic re-leap. Chairman Ryu stated, “We will activate overseas networks to support the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s export expansion policies and advanced industry super-gap strategies and take the lead in private economic diplomacy.” He proposed strengthening export finance support for strategic items such as nuclear power and defense to expand exports and requested special attention to the stable securing of energy.
