Busan City will hold the '2023 Busan Innovation City Photo and Design Contest' until November 10.
This contest was organized to contribute to the mutual development of Busan Innovation City and the promotion of culture in the Busan region.
Since 2019, Busan City has been conducting annual projects to expand mutual development linked to Innovation City. Following last year, this contest is being promoted again this year to raise interest in the functions and effects of Busan Innovation City through active participation not only from employees of relocated public institutions but also from citizens.
The contest targets photo, design, and painting works expressing Busan Innovation City. Anyone residing in Korea, including Korean nationals and foreigners, can participate.
The works can depict various scenes of Busan Innovation City (Munhyeon, Daeyeon, Centum, Dongsam districts) or photos and paintings that well represent the functional groups of Innovation City such as maritime, film, video, games, and finance.
Applications can be submitted after signing up on the Innovation City contest website.
The city will evaluate the submitted photos and designs based on theme creativity, usability, and symbolism, and select and award five final works.
One grand prize (Busan Mayor’s Award, 1,000,000 KRW) and four excellence awards (Busan Mayor’s Award, 500,000 KRW each) will be given.
The winning works will be actively used as materials for promoting Busan Innovation City and for producing promotional items.
Nam Jeong-eun, Director of the Youth Industry-Academia Division, said, “We ask for the active interest and participation of citizens in this contest that can widely promote Busan Innovation City,” adding, “Going forward, the city and the 13 relocated public institutions will join forces to carry out various projects for the mutual development of the local community.”
The 13 relocated public institutions are Korea Housing Finance Corporation, Korea South-East Power Co., Korea Asset Management Corporation, Korea Securities Depository, Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, Korea Maritime Institute, National Oceanographic Research Institute, National Fisheries Products Quality Management Service, Korean Film Council, Korea Media Rating Board, Game Rating and Administration Committee, and Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute.
