'Hongdae Unmanned Photo Studio Sexual Assault' 20s Male Arrested and Indicted
A man in his 20s accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an unmanned photo studio near Hongik University’s busy district has been indicted while in custody.
On the 13th, the Women and Children Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeong Hyun-seung) announced that they had formally charged Mr. A, a man in his 20s, with rape causing injury and robbery.
Mr. A is accused of strangling and sexually assaulting Ms. B, who was intoxicated and asleep, at an unmanned photo studio in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, around 8:30 a.m. on the 22nd of last month, and then fleeing the scene. He is also charged with confiscating her resident registration card in a threatening manner to prevent her from reporting the crime.
Police who responded to Ms. B’s report arrested Mr. A urgently around 8:30 p.m. the same day in Ojeong-dong, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province.

A prosecution official stated, "Considering that the sexual assault was committed against a stranger at an unmanned photo studio in a busy area during morning hours, we will do our utmost to maintain the prosecution so that a sentence commensurate with the crime can be imposed."
