Entels, Winner of the '1st AIoT Innovation Awards' in the Standards Category
Entels announced on the 12th that it has developed and commercialized a commercial-grade Internet of Things (IoT) platform based on the international standard for machine-to-machine communication (oneM2M) and was selected for the standard category of the ‘2023 1st AIoT Innovation Awards.’
The ‘AIoT Innovation Awards’ were jointly hosted by nine organizations including the Korea Intelligent IoT Association (AIoT Association), National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), and Telecommunications Technology Association (TTA). Established this year, the awards aim to discover AIoT companies with innovative services, technologies, and products to promote AIoT across industries and society and accelerate digital innovation.
A total of 11 companies and organizations were selected for the Innovation Awards across five categories: AIoT-related services, technology, security, standards, and products. Entels received the Innovation Award in the standards category in recognition of the excellence of its oneM2M-based commercial IoT platform development.
Since 2008, Entels has developed, built, and deployed M2M/IoT-based platforms for various sites, including the Ministry of Justice’s electronic ankle bracelet system based on 2G networks. After the establishment of the oneM2M standard in 2014, Entels developed and commercialized the ‘N-MAS IoT Platform,’ an IoT platform that supports the oneM2M standard based on its IoT platform technology. It has been applied to services such as smart streetlights, fine dust measurement, remote water meter reading, gas/fire/explosive/structure detection at Anyang City Hall, wildfire detection and smart life jackets at Gangwon Provincial Office, and smart shade shelters at Daegu City Hall.
The N-MAS IoT Platform was the world’s first to obtain GCF oneM2M certification and TTA oneM2M standard certification, and also received the TTA GS certification (Grade 1), proving its software functionality, performance, usability, reliability, and security.
