Viu, ACA & G.OTT Awards Winner in K-Content Overseas Expansion Category
Asia-wide OTT (Over-The-Top) platform Viu has been recognized for its contribution to the globalization of K-content.
Viu received the 'K-Content Overseas Expansion' award at the 2023 Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards (2023 ACA & G.OTT Awards), held on the 8th at the outdoor theater of Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu, Busan. This category honors OTT platforms that have actively contributed to the globalization of K-content, and Viu, which has over 60 million active users, was selected as the recipient.
Janice Lee, CEO of Viu & PCCW Media Group, said, "We are grateful for the recognition of Viu's achievements in the globalization of K-content," adding, "We also thank many Korean partners who have trusted us with creative work and content over the past few years." She continued, "K-content forms the core of our success across Viu markets including Asia, the Middle East, and South Africa. Viu's drama "The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family," for which it exclusively purchased overseas broadcasting rights at the end of last year, was recently nominated as a finalist in the TV Movie & Mini-Series category at the 51st Emmy Awards. Starting with "Taxi Driver 2" this year, Viu has received enthusiastic responses overseas with various K-content.
Kim Moon-yeon, Chairperson of the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards organizing committee, expressed gratitude for Viu's contribution to distributing and expanding K-content worldwide in multiple languages.

The Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards is an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding TV, OTT, and online content worldwide. Established in 2019, the Asia Contents Awards collaborated this year with the International OTT Festival, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Busan Metropolitan City, to present a newly enhanced event.
