"Fostering Local Development Talent"... Busan Gijang-gun Launches Scholarship Recruitment
From the 4th to the 31st of this month, Busan's Gijang-gun will accept applications for the selection of scholarship students for the "2023 Second Half Gijang-gun Scholarship."
Gijang-gun recruits scholarship students twice a year, in the first and second halves, according to the "Gijang-gun Scholarship Fund Establishment and Operation Ordinance," to support students' academic stability and foster human resources for regional development.
For university students, scholarships of up to 2 million KRW per person are provided within the range of self-paid tuition fees based on categories such as academic excellence, welfare, multiple children, and special talents. For elementary, middle, and high school students, 500,000 KRW per person is provided in the special talent scholarship category.
Eligibility requires that, as of the date of recommendation by the eup/myeon head, either the parent or the student has continuously resided in Gijang-gun for more than one year according to the resident registration, and detailed criteria for each selection process must also be met. Applicants can apply by visiting the eup/myeon administrative welfare center at their resident registration address.
The county plans to conduct evaluations in November and hold a review committee meeting in December to finalize the selection of scholarship students and provide the scholarships.
A Gijang-gun official stated, "We will actively support expanding scholarship funds so that many students can benefit from scholarships in the future."
