Seoul City and Financial Supervisory Service Jointly Host Fintech Conference
Insight Sharing through Keynote Speech by Lee Seung-geon, CEO of Toss
The Seoul Metropolitan Government has joined hands with the Financial Supervisory Service to strengthen the competitiveness of Seoul as a digital finance city and to discuss the development of the fintech industry.
On the 4th, Seoul announced that it held the ‘Seoul Fintech Week 2023 Conference’ at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). The conference opening ceremony featured an opening address by Mayor Oh Se-hoon and a welcome speech by Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Bok-hyun, followed by a keynote speech from Lee Seung-geon, CEO of Viva Republica (Toss), a global top 100 unicorn (a private startup valued at over 1 billion USD) and a leading domestic fintech company, who shared insights on the theme ‘How Fintech Creates Social Value.’

Alongside this, at the DDP venue where the conference took place, a ‘Fintech Promotion Booth’ showcasing the technologies and services of innovative fintech companies was operated. A total of 21 booths, including promising fintech companies such as ▲Pinovation Challenge selected companies ▲FinToday - 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab Demo Day participating companies ▲2023 Seoul Fintech Week Demo Day with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea participating companies, were set up to present fintech innovation technologies and services to visitors.
Various fintech-related programs continued on the 5th and 6th. On the second day of the event, the 5th, programs included ▲Open Talk: Fintech Stories with Shuka ▲Global Fintech Insights ▲Startup Open Antenna, and on the third day, the 6th, ▲FinToday - 2nd Seoul Fintech Lab Demo Day ▲2023 Seoul Fintech Week Demo Day with IBK Industrial Bank of Korea were held.
