Busan City, Nationwide First to Establish and Operate Smart Bus Information System at BRT Stations
Establishment of Guidance System for 20 Passenger Waiting Facilities at 4 BRT Stations
Ultra-Precise Bus Location Information, Route-Specific Stops, Estimated Arrival Times, etc.
Busan City is the first in the nation to install and operate smart bus information displays at passenger waiting facilities of four BRT stations where bus users are concentrated.
The 'Smart Bus Information Display' will be installed in LED form on the glass walls of passenger waiting facilities at BRT section stations. Through this, it will efficiently display ▲ultra-precise bus location information ▲bus route-specific stops ▲expected arrival times, and more.
The installation sites include a total of 20 passenger waiting facilities: 4 at Haeundae Station, 6 at Jagalchi Station, 6 at Busan Station, and 4 at Busan City Hall Station.
Currently, the system is being piloted at the passenger waiting facilities at Haeundae Station, and the city plans to complete sequential installations at other locations by October.
The city expects that operating these displays will enhance the convenience of public transportation use, provide clean and upscale waiting facilities at stations, and improve operational efficiency of the stations, thereby increasing citizen satisfaction.
The feature of the Smart Bus Information Display is that when information displayed needs to be updated, the revised information can be provided faster and more efficiently than the traditional printed information method, allowing the waiting facilities to be maintained cleanly and elegantly.
