The basic fare for the metropolitan subway will increase by 150 won to 1,400 won starting from the 7th. The youth fare will be adjusted to 800 won, up by 80 won, and the child fare will be adjusted to 500 won, up by 50 won.
Seoul City announced on the 2nd that the subway basic fare will be adjusted and implemented from the first train on the 7th. Along with the simultaneous fare adjustment for the metropolitan subway, the change will be applied simultaneously to the entire metropolitan subway sections including Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Korail.
The 60-ride commuter pass operated on the metropolitan subway will also have its price adjusted in line with the basic fare increase.
By travel distance, the 1st step (1 deduction per 20 km) will increase from 55,000 won to 61,600 won, and the 18th step (no additional deduction based on distance) will increase from 117,800 won to 123,400 won.
The single-ride ticket will increase by 150 won, matching the transportation card basic fare, and will be available for 1,500 won. Fare-related benefits such as metropolitan area integrated transfer discounts and early bird discounts will continue.
