"Rising to 48 Degrees in 30 Minutes"… Apple Acknowledges iPhone 15 Overheating Issue
"Cause of Overload Due to Bugs and Third-Party Apps"
Apple has stated regarding the overheating issue of the high-end models of the iPhone 15 series released in the United States that "the device may become hot during the first few days of use." Apple intends to resolve the heating problem soon.
On the 30th (local time), Apple acknowledged the overheating issue with the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, explaining that "a system overload caused by a bug in the latest iOS 17 software and some third-party apps results in longer times for device setup and user data restoration."
Apple plans to fix the overheating issue through a software update, stating, "We are working with app developers whose apps cause iPhone overheating to resolve the problem."
However, the company did not specify when the software update will be available.
The iPhone 15 series was released last month on the 22nd in the United States, Europe, and Asia. It is scheduled to be released in Korea on the 13th.
Immediately after the launch of the iPhone 15 series, social media (SNS) spread concerns that the high-end models of the iPhone 15 become excessively hot during gaming, calls, FaceTime, and charging.
Chinese IT specialist YouTuber Geekerwan claimed that when playing high-spec games on the iPhone 15 Pro at 300 nits brightness and 25 degrees Celsius room temperature, the device temperature rose to 48.1 degrees Celsius within 30 minutes. He also reported that the iPhone 15 Pro Max exceeded 45 degrees Celsius.
