Receipt of Award Notice for Aluzain PDH·PP·UTOS Plants
Following Pre-FEED, FEED Also Secured
Samsung Engineering has won a basic design project for a petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia.
Samsung Engineering announced on the 27th that it recently received a Notice of Award (NoA) from Alujain in Saudi Arabia for the basic design (FEED) project of the 'PDH·PP·UTOS Plant.' The contract amount is approximately $19.5 million (about 26 billion KRW), and the project is planned to be completed by May next year.
This project, carried out in the Yanbu Industrial Complex in Medina Province, western Saudi Arabia, involves the FEED for a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) plant with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons, a polypropylene (PP) plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons, and utility facilities (UTOS) required for the plant.
A Samsung Engineering official explained, "The key to winning this project was our FEED competitiveness based on our experience and design capabilities in our core products, PDH and PP," adding, "Alujain showed trust in Samsung Engineering by entrusting us with the FEED following the Pre-FEED stage of this project."
