Jirisan History and Culture Center Hosts Traditional Seasonal Customs Experience Event for Chuseok
On the 23rd, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that it held a traditional seasonal customs experience event at the Jirisan History and Culture Center under the theme "Not more, not less, just like Chuseok."
About 100 residents spent a meaningful time reflecting on the significance of seasonal customs by experiencing making songpyeon, traditional archery competitions between families, and scarecrows that used to chase away flocks of birds in the fields with their families.
County Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "I hope the seasonal customs experience event will increase residents' interest and understanding of traditional culture and contribute to passing down traditional culture to future generations," adding, "I also hope for much interest and participation in the traditional play culture experience from various countries around the world, the Jungangjeol seasonal customs experience event, and busking performances held in October."
