Daegu Airport Domestic Passenger Terminal Renovation
Provision of Baby Restrooms and Barrier-Free Toilets
Korea Airports Corporation held an opening ceremony on the 26th for the newly renovated Daegu Airport domestic passenger terminal. Officials from Daegu City, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and members of the National Assembly attended the ceremony. Airlines operating at Daegu Airport, including T'way Air, Jeju Air, Asiana Airlines, and Jin Air, also participated and held a ticket giveaway event.
The terminal opened on the 20th and was remodeled by converting the terminal that previously served both domestic and international flights into an international-only terminal, while the area formerly used as an airport hotel was transformed into a domestic-only terminal.
This remodeling involved forming a 'Service Design Team with Local Residents' to gather and incorporate the diverse needs of customers such as passengers with young children and people with disabilities into the design. Examples include the creation of a nursery lounge equipped with standing diaper changing stations and barrier-free restrooms accessible to bedridden disabled individuals.
