Jindo-gun Hosts the 11th Veterans Family Harmony Festival

At Nokjin Weekend Market... Conveying Hearts of Gratitude and Comfort

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it held the 11th Veterans Family Unity Festival.

The Veterans Family Unity Festival was organized to enhance the honor and pride of veterans' families who dedicated themselves to the country and to widely promote and reflect on the meaning of veterans' affairs.

On the 23rd, over 200 members of seven veterans organizations and local residents gathered at the Nokjin Weekend Market in Gunnae-myeon for a time of harmony.

The Veterans Organizations Council of Jindo-gun (Chairman Jeong Gyeong-jin) hosted the Veterans Family Unity Festival, supported by Jindo-gun, which held its first event in 2010 and was held again after three years due to COVID-19.

The event began with a pre-performance by the Jindo-gun Folk Arts Troupe, followed by △presentation of appreciation plaques △congratulatory speeches △performance by invited singers △lunch, conveying gratitude and consolation to the veterans' families.

Kim Hee-su, the county governor, said, “Today's Republic of Korea exists because of the dedication of national merit recipients,” and added, “We will forever remember the national merit recipients and strive harder to honor and support the veterans.”
