Development of Internal Environmental Performance Indicators
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kang Seok-jin, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 21st that it has obtained the international standard certification for environmental management systems, 'ISO14001'. ISO14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), certifying companies and institutions that have a systematic management system by comprehensively evaluating environmental management strategies and implementation organizational systems.
In this audit, SBC received positive evaluations by continuously improving its management system, such as developing institution-customized environmental performance indicators based on the K-ESG guidelines (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy) and establishing an environmental management system. In particular, monitoring for goal achievement was strengthened through an enterprise-wide system that allows real-time sharing of quantitative data for each environmental performance indicator.
Earlier this year, SBC expressed a strong commitment to environmental management through the '2050 Carbon Neutrality Practice Pledge Declaration' led by the institution's head. In addition, it is currently promoting a systematic environmental management foundation by holding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Management Committee meetings to establish mid- to long-term ESG management strategies and annual environmental management plans.
