Jeong Gyeong-sim, former professor at Dongyang University, who is serving a prison sentence after being convicted of charges including admission bribery involving her children, is set to be released on parole on the 27th. Meanwhile, her husband, former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, urged the media to "refrain from paparazzi-like behavior."
On the 21st, Cho Kuk stated on his social networking service (SNS), "Professor Jeong will focus primarily on recovering her health," expressing his request.
He said, "I earnestly ask members of the press to refrain from paparazzi-like actions such as lurking near her home with cameras or tracking the family by vehicle as in the past," adding, "Absolute stability is necessary."
He also expressed gratitude to supporters. Cho Kuk said, "We deeply thank the citizens who have sent warm comfort and encouragement so far. We also extend our gratitude to religious figures who have given strength through fervent prayers."
