Seongnam City Strengthens Local Patrol Activities During Chuseok Holiday

View original imageSeongnam City in Gyeonggi Province is strengthening community patrol activities to actively respond to violent crimes involving weapons targeting innocent citizens ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
On the evening of the 19th, Seongnam City announced on the 20th that it conducted a joint civil-government-police patrol around Seohyeon Station in Bundang District, with the participation of about 50 people including Joo Gwang-ho, head of Bundang District Office, Mo Sang-myo, chief of Bundang Police Station, the Seongnam Marine Corps Veterans Association, the Neighborhood Watch, and the Multicultural Public Safety Volunteer Group.
This joint patrol was organized to alleviate citizens' anxiety caused by a series of recent violent crimes and to prevent random (motivationless) crimes.
In particular, they inspected crime-prone areas around the densely populated Seohyeon Station area and discussed crime prevention measures.
A Seongnam City official emphasized, "To create a safe and secure Seongnam for citizens, Seongnam City will take the lead in establishing a crime prevention system through cooperation among civil, government, and police sectors."
