Seoul Daerim-dong Currency Exchange Robbery Suspect, Chinese-Korean Detained
On the 18th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul arrested Park Mo (32), a Chinese-Korean, on charges of stealing 1.79 million won in cash from a currency exchange office and fleeing the scene.
Kim Ji-sook, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Southern District Court, conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant hearing) that day and issued an arrest warrant for Park.
According to the police, Park is accused of threatening the owner with a weapon and stealing 1.79 million won in cash at a currency exchange office A in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at around 5:07 p.m. on the 15th. (special robbery)
The police recovered 1 million won of the stolen amount. Park reportedly stated during the investigation that "the rest was spent on card payments and other expenses."
