Arrest Warrant Issued for Chinese-Korean Suspect in Daerim-dong Currency Exchange Robbery Case
Suspected of Snatching Cash and Fleeing from Currency Exchange Office
On the 17th, the Yeongdeungpo Police Station in Seoul applied for an arrest warrant for Park Mo (32), a Chinese-Korean, on charges of snatching cash and fleeing from a currency exchange office.
Park is accused of threatening the owner with a weapon and stealing 1.79 million won in cash at the A currency exchange office in Daerim-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, at around 5:07 PM on the 15th (special robbery).
The police arrested Park and a Chinese national woman in her 20s, L, at a hotel in Yeongdeungpo-dong 3-ga at around 10:30 AM the previous day, about 18 hours after the incident. The police recovered 1 million won of the stolen amount. They stated that they spent 790,000 won on card payments and other expenses.

The police initially suspected that L was keeping watch in front of the currency exchange office. However, after analyzing closed-circuit television (CCTV), they determined that she did not participate in the crime. The police found that L used part of the stolen cash together with Park. They confirmed that L was illegally staying in the country and handed her over to the immigration office.
