Presidential Office Responds to Opposition's 'Prime Minister Dismissal Recommendation' Resolution: "The Victims Are the People"
Democratic Party Submits Motion to Dismiss Prime Minister... Emergency General Assembly Resolution
Ruling Party, "Ruinous Nolbu Mentality... Only People Power Can Stop the Recklessness"
The Presidential Office stated on the 17th that "the victims of the reckless struggle are the people" in response to the Democratic Party of Korea's resolution to recommend the dismissal of Prime Minister Han Deok-su. The position is that the Democratic Party's political moves will ultimately harm the people while President Yoon Seok-yeol is working tirelessly for the livelihood and exports.
The day before, the Democratic Party issued a resolution through a party meeting stating, "We urge a comprehensive reform of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration and the resignation of the entire cabinet, and immediately submit a motion to recommend the dismissal of Prime Minister Han Deok-su." In particular, they announced, "We will proceed with the necessary procedures to enforce the Special Prosecutor Act for investigating obstruction of the investigation and cover-up of the death of a fallen Marine."
Additionally, the resolution included statements such as "We will fight against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's unjust political investigations, oppression of opposition parties, political purges, and the destruction of the previous administration," and "We will push forward impeachment procedures against prosecutors who committed illegal acts." During the meeting, the Democratic Party also resolved to end the hunger strike of leader Lee Jae-myung and conveyed this to him. Floor leader Park Kwang-on explained, "During the party meeting, senior members and key officials met with the leader and expressed that continuing the hunger strike was unacceptable," but added, "However, the leader still did not waver in his determination."
The People Power Party responded with opposition. Chief spokesperson Kang Min-guk commented, "The Democratic Party's reckless rampage, which is irrational, unreasonable, anti-national, and anti-people, can only be stopped by the People Power Party," adding, "As of today, the Democratic Party has abandoned its status as a legitimate political party in the Republic of Korea." He emphasized, "Leader Lee Jae-myung's hunger strike is nothing more than a baseless show, but nonetheless, the People Power Party expressed concern for his health. However, the Democratic Party's response was bizarrely directed at the Yoon Seok-yeol government, demanding 'the resignation of the entire cabinet' and 'the dismissal of the prime minister,' which cannot be seen as demands from a legitimate political party in Korea."

He further criticized, "When told to stop their party leader's hunger strike, why suddenly demand the resignation of the entire cabinet? Already struggling with the leader's judicial risks, with the 'presidential election manipulation' case and statistical fraud being revealed, as public judgment approaches, they seem intent on sinking together with the Republic of Korea, showing a ruinous and selfish mindset." Floor spokesperson Jang Dong-hyuk also commented, "Bringing up the resignation of the entire cabinet as an exit strategy for a baseless hunger strike is unimaginable unless one is an alien from Mars," and said, "The Democratic Party's emergency party meeting resolution is a 'Martian resolution.'"
