On the same day, the Board of Audit and Inspection disclosed the audit results of the "Preparation and Utilization of Major National Statistics." The audit announced that illegal activities such as manipulation of real estate, income, and employment statistical figures or distortion of numerical information were confirmed during the Moon Jae-in administration.
Meanwhile, based on this interim audit result, the Board of Audit and Inspection stated that it has requested the prosecution to investigate 22 high-ranking officials from the previous administration on charges including violation of the Statistics Act, abuse of authority, and obstruction of business.
