At the stage greeting, Director Ryu said, "I am pleased to introduce the film at the Toronto International Film Festival." Cameron Bailey, the festival's executive director, said, "The audience here today is watching 'Milsoo,' which is being screened for the first time in North America. It is a film that brings joy to the audience and features an excellent cast. It is one of the biggest summer blockbusters in Korea this year. We are delighted to premiere it in North America."
On this day, over 2,500 people filled the theater. The American magazine Variety praised, "Director Ryu Seung-wan finds a clever way to center six female actors in an intricate smuggling operation."
During the following Q&A session, Yeom Jeong-ah said, “Before filming, I couldn’t swim, but I wanted to do 'Milsoo' so badly that I agreed to take underwater training for several months. With the help of my colleagues on set, I was ultimately able to accomplish it."
