Hwaseong-si Selected for 'API-Based Digital Platform Government Innovation Service Project'
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 15th that it has been selected for the "API-based Digital Platform Government Innovation Service Development Support Project" organized by the National Information Society Agency (NIA). An 'API (Application Programming Interface)' refers to an interface for interaction between various application programs.
This contest aims to support the development of services that can contribute to resolving inconveniences in daily life, improving convenience, and eliminating blind spots. Hwaseong City participated in the contest together with URP Co., Ltd.
Through participation in this project, the city plans to develop a service to improve the current issues where the search function on the Hwaseong City and public institution websites does not reflect importance, and users experience inconvenience due to separate management of each institution's website. Additionally, the city intends to address the problem where unofficial information such as blogs appears at the top of search results on portal sites like Google and Naver, while official information is marginalized.
To this end, the city will implement an AI-based intelligent information retrieval service that automatically collects posts published on the Hwaseong City and public institution websites and provides integrated search results.
