Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Receives Grand Prize at 2023 Korea Healthy City Awards
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District Office in Seoul, received the Grand Prize in the General Policy category at the ‘2023 Korea Healthy City Awards’ organized by the Korea Healthy Cities Association.
The ‘Korea Healthy City Awards’ is an award given annually by the Korea Healthy Cities Association to local governments that have shown outstanding achievements in improving residents' health and quality of life among 102 member cities nationwide.
The project ‘Incorporating Health into All Policies - Nowon-type Healthy City Based on Participation and Cooperation’ was selected for the Grand Prize, recognizing Nowon's efforts to create a healthy city for all residents, earning the honor for five consecutive years.
The Korea Healthy Cities Association’s regular general meeting was held at 1 p.m. on the 14th at the Eco Grad Hotel in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do. Attendees included member cities such as Nowon-gu, the Grand Prize winner, and the event proceeded with the reading of a joint policy declaration, presentation of the Healthy City Awards, approval of key agenda items, and presentations of excellent case studies by institutions.
On this day, the Mayor of Nowon-gu presented excellent cases under the theme ‘A Walkable City, Healthy Nowon,’ highlighting how the district achieved first place among Seoul’s autonomous districts in walking practice rate for three consecutive years.
