Kim San, Muan County Governor, Continues Field Administration to Secure Budget

National Assembly Budget Committee Chair Seo Samsuk Visits to Request National Funding Support

Kim San, the governor of Muan County, visited the National Assembly on the 13th and met with Seo Sam-seok, chairman of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee, to actively request cooperation so that pending projects that were underrepresented or not reflected in the government budget proposal can be included during the National Assembly’s budget review process starting next month.

Governor Kim San is making every effort to secure national funds by visiting the National Assembly again after July, expressing his urgent concerns despite the difficulties in securing the budget due to recent tax revenue declines and the government’s sound fiscal policy.

On this day, he actively explained the justification and necessity of major proposed projects totaling 69.1 billion KRW, including △Cheongsu 1 Natural Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project △Bus Public Garage Construction Project △Changpoho Nonpoint Pollution Reduction Project △Korea Important Forest Plant Conservation, Education, and Exhibition Garden Construction.

For the 2023 second half special grant support projects, he proposed that nine projects totaling 9.3 billion KRW be reflected in the government plan, including △Jungdeungpo, Byeonghak, and Jeokdong Small Stream Maintenance Projects △Mongtan-myeon Dasan-ri and Isan-ri Landslide Slope Restoration Construction △Namak Central Park Complex Playground Facility Construction Project △Namak Reservoir Facility Improvement Construction.

He also discussed procedures and measures to ensure the selection of public contest projects such as the Fisheries Village New Vitality Promotion Project (20 billion KRW) and the Muan Hwangto Mudflat Land Wooden Ocean Tower Construction Project (13 billion KRW), requesting cooperation.

Governor Kim San said, “I will continuously monitor the situation and frequently visit central government ministries and the National Assembly until the budget is finally confirmed by the National Assembly. The projects proposed today are important for the future of Muan, so I will do my best to ensure they are included.”
